Wood trim of the Ponton convertibles is mainly in very poor condition due to the age of the car and the fact that most of the wood trim has been spoiled by unexperienced hands in the past. In most cases a complete re-veneering has to be carried out which is a difficult, time-consumpting and thus expensive job.

But there is no rule without an exception. The pictured wood trim was still in untouched original condition. Although the laquer surface had been extremely affected by the influence of sun and temperature, the walnut veneer below was in good order apart from minor damages. Such condition is ideal but, unfortunately, very seldom meanwhile.

Restoration work: about 40 hrs.
